Emma Berkery (b.1979)

Submerged in Echoes is a new exhibition of paintings by Emma Bekery from 01/04/21 to 25/05/21 at Culturlann McAdam O'Fiaich. The exhibition can be viewed online at www.culturlann.ie.

Emma Berkery was born in Limerick in 1979 and currently lives and works in Belfast, Northern Ireland.  She is regarded as one of Ireland's foremost contemporary artists. Berkery is influenced by the group of American artists known as the Colourfield Painters, in particular Helen Frankenthaler and Morris Louis. She describes her work as "an exploration of paint and the emotive qualities of colour". Her paintings can be seen to incorporate themes of beauty, perfection and control.
