Lynne Foster Fitzgerald - Irish (1952)

Lynne Foster Fitzgerald initially trained as a teacher (N.C.A.D. 1972).  As a mature student, she graduated in Fine Art from IADT-DT in 1997.  Solo shows have been Self Assembly (1998 & 2002), Bardo (2002), and The Ties That Bind (2002 & 2003).  She has exhibited in Iontas, Eigse, Kilkenny Arts Week and other selected group shows.  Her work is in private collections in Ireland, England, America and Canada.

“I seek visual expression for that which resists verbal or written form: addressing and articulating areas of experience and emotion that otherwise might elude expression.  The quest towards visual and emotional clarity becomes a dialogue between materials/process and intent: the images that survive this rigorous pursuit are those that resonate most strongly, a palimpsest of feeling, experience, memory.  Surfaces, layers, buried images and objects, the use of materials for the feelings they evoke, the sensuality of paint, intuition versus concept, integration, transformation.”
