William Crozier was born in Glasgow. After graduating from the Glasgow School of Art, he began travelling around Europe and has continued to travel extensively ever since. He maintains studios in West cork and in Hampshire, England. His work has been shown in many exhibitions in Britain, Europe, Ireland and America.
Crozier is represented in galleries worldwide which include the Crawford Municipal Art Gallery, Copenhagen Museum of Modern Art, Dallas Museum of Modern Art, Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Gdansk National Museum (Poland), Victoria and Albert Museum (London), National Gallery of Australia, National Gallery of Canada and the Warsaw National Museum.
In 1990 the RHA held a retrospective exhibition of his work in co-operation with the Crawford Municipal Art Gallery, and in 1993 he was the subject of the RTE documentary Truth About A Painter. In recent years Crozier has been awarded Professor Emeritus, Winchester School of Art and was elected a member of Aosdana.
